Our mission at NRS is to provide the equipment, inspiration and expertise that empower adventures on the water. We deliver on that mission with outfitter-grade equipment and apparel built for ultimate utility in the wild, and we work to create original video content that educates, inspires and entertains.

NRS was born in 1972 when Bill Parks, an idealistic college professor and avid river runner, set out to prove that the principles he taught in the classroom could work in the real world. Bill believed that business could be about more than making a profit—that it could be a source of value and satisfaction for its employees and the communities it serves, and a force for good in the world. Headquartered in Moscow, Idaho, we are committed to the stewardship of clean, healthy waters and are 100% employee owned.
