Fort Wayne Police Department

The Fort Wayne Police Department (FWPD) serves the City of Fort Wayne, which is located in northeast Indiana. Fort Wayne is the second largest city in the state. The city encompasses an area of about 111 square miles with a population of approximately 270,402. Fort Wayne's cultural climate is increasingly diverse. The FWPD was established in 1829 with a single "Village Marshal". The tradition continues today with 500 sworn officers and approximately 119 civilians. The FWPD is lead by Police Chief Scott Caudill. The Department is a full-service highly sophisticated professional agency.
